STAINED GLASS, now in its fifth year, is an integrated collaborative arts concert based on God’s Trombones: Seven Negro Sermons in Verse (1927) by James Weldon Johnson (1871-1938, Lift Every Voice and Sing). The sermonic poems, chronicling man’s existence from the Creation to Judgement Day, are Interpreted through contemporary, liturgical, and W. African dance performances by Hayiya Dance Theatre, Inc., orators, guest dancers and a community choir. G.Pilar Wilder, Artistic Director, Christopher Graddick & R. Proceeds will benefit Hayiya Dance Theatre, Inc. Scholarship Fund and the Hayiya Dance Theatre Senior Scholarship Fund.
