Hayiya Dance Theatre, Inc. (H.D.T.) is a professional dance and percussion ensemble. H.D.T. is in its 15th season making the group Macon, Georgia’s oldest dance ensemble specializing in West African dance performance.

Our mission is to educate, entertain and engage the community by providing opportunities for cultural arts enrichment and exposure. Partnering with Hayiya Dance Theatre, Movement Institute and Centre for Cultural Arts, now in its 11th season, and under the leadership of Artistic Director and founder, Pilar Wilder, Hayiya performances also include jazz, contemporary, ballet, tap, Latin dance and more!

As cultural ambassadors, members of Hayiya have inspired audiences locally and throughout the Southeast at events and venues including Arts in the Heart of Augusta, Georgia Governor’s Conference on Tourism, Florida A&M University, Centennial Olympic Park, Moja Arts Festival of Charleston, SC, Tribute to the Vice President of Sierra Leone, and Albany State University.
