The Tubman Museum — located in Macon, Georgia, USA in the city’s museum district and across the Cherry Street Plaza from the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame — is the largest museum of its type in the nation.

Founded in 1981, this 49,000-square-foot museum is dedicated to preserving and displaying African American art, history and culture. It offers an array of diverse permanent and changing exhibitions, cutting edge technology, print and digital publications festivals, lectures, concerts, dance, drama, drumming, photography, innovative educational programming for students and teachers in grades K-12 and college, and a host of special events that are focused on African American culture that are geared toward visitors of all ages.
