Macon Noise was founded in 2010 in response to Macon’s need for an organization that bridged the gap between music, art, grassroots methods, and community. Co-founders and local musicians, Shawn Williamson and Clark Bush, became inspired to create a local music compilation album of diverse bands and artist, as well a fanzine dedicated to its scene. Nearing the end of 2010 Macon Noise would naturally form a DIY (do-it-yourself) independent record label. Booking, promoting, stage production, screen printing, design, studio production, audio engineering, event coordination, art production and other aspects of its business remain dedicated to a grassroots non profit approach to self-preservation, expansion, and plans. Throughout 2010-2011 Macon Noise has been dedicated to hosting concerts and events featuring touring and local bands while involving media such as art, film, literature, and more. We are aware Macon is in extreme need for a centralized hub for music/art production, promotion, and facilitation that can provide awareness and the knowledge people need to make the arts and entertainment industry strong in its own city.
