200 Martin Luther King Dr., Macon, Georgia 31201

Completed in 2001 with the generous assistance of Charles H. Jones, Gateway Park includes an interactive fountain and a statue of Macon’s own Otis Redding. The Park has bike racks, restrooms, and steps down to the river. It often hosts special events such as Jazz on the Docks and community picnics. It is the perfect spot for a field trip, family reunion, or relaxing day along the Trail. Follow the Trail south into under MLK and into Central City Park, or north, up MLK bridge and toward Spring Street. You can also use this spot as a kayak/canoe launch or take-out location, for spending a day on the beautiful Ocmulgee River.
