College Hill Alliance

The College Hill Alliance became operational in the fall of 2009 with a full-time staff consisting of an executive director, director of communications and outreach, program coordinator and administrative assistant. Funded by a three-year grant from the Knight Foundation, the College Hill Alliance is a department of Mercer University. The mission of the Alliance is to assist the community in creating positive change to the Corridor’s physical and social fabric. The staff of the College Hill Alliance works to foster neighborhood revitalization; improve public spaces and infrastructure for multimodal transportation; and, catalyze private investment and real estate (commercial and residential) development that strengthens the historic and residential character of the College Hill Corridor. The Alliance’s direction and oversight is provided by a steering committee consisting of representatives of the Bibb County Board of Commissioners, City of Macon, College Hill Corridor Commission, Community Foundation of Central Georgia, Knight Foundation, Macon Housing Authority, and Mercer University.
