This evening of iconic American music will feature the artistry of concert pianist Jeewon Park and two principal members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s woodwind section, flutist Christina Smith and bassoonist Andrew Brady. Also new to the Fabian series is clarinetist Bixby Kennedy. A NYC-based performer, he holds positions in the New Haven and Albany symphony orchestras, is a member of the chamber ensemble Frisson and performs regularly at the Marlboro Music Festival. Whether you are a fan of fiddle tunes, jazz, hymns or spirituals, this concert has a little something for everyone. The program includes John William’s Air and Simple Gifts, Charles Washington’s Midnight Child, George Gershwin’s Three Preludes, as well as Aaron Copland’s incredibly beautiful, charming, lyrical and memorable Appalachian Spring.

This year’s Fabian Concert Series beings a tour of music from six different countries, in six different concerts, over the span of the 2019-2020 season.
